This is a small, short lived series that was both an intimate approach for me to begin in color film, as well as a beginning phase in my interests for portait photography, inspired photographers by Nan Goldin, I began photographing my grandmother while she lived in a nursing home in Miami.
The first results were successful, my grandmother often forgot the camera was there.
Abuela Alicia passed away a month after the first roll was developed. I keep this as my first series because it was the first time my mind began thinking in the language of an artist, like a child taking saying its first words.
